Ilkka Liukas, who had worked in the construction and crane industry for a long time, had been trying to remove a stuck wheel from a crane one day, but the wheel wouldn't budge. They tried pushing the wheel off the hub with a heavy-duty jack, hitting it with a crowbar, and pulling it with an excavator, but nothing worked.
The wheel was putting up a fight, but against the wrong man. The team decided to take a break and during the night, Liukas feverishly thought about how to remove the wheel. That's when he came up with the first prototype of Rim Wizard-tool. The next morning, they were able to remove the wheel effortlessly and quickly using the device. The story of Rim Wizard had begun.
